Introduction
Porboutou lies in the northern Dordogne, close to the border with the Charente. It is surrounded by magnificent rolling countryside, yet is only five minutes drive from St Severin (Spar), and around 10 minutes from Riberac - well known for its Friday morning market, a good range of shops and two major supermarkets.
Peace and quiet, but close to amenities, two self-contained holiday apartments within the 36-acre private grounds of a secluded Chateau. On-site facilities include swimming pool, ancient tennis court, and woodland walks etc.
The Porboutou estate is protected by electric security gates for maximum privacy. While only six kilometres from Riberac or St Severin, transport is essential to gain maximum enjoyment from the surrounding countryside. We are pleased to welcome guests to our home and we can offer advice on restaurants, sports facilities, shopping, antiques and tourist attractions. Most towns have excellent tourist information offices designed to help the visitor to the locality. We hope you have a marvellous holiday.
Local Entertainment
Restaurants abound in the area and with menus ranging in price from €11 - €30 it often appears cheaper to eat out rather than cook at home. Riding and golf are close by. Perigueux (capital of Dordogne) and Angloueme (capital of Charente) are both around 40 minutes drive, whilst Limoges is about 65 minutes and Bordeaux close to 90 minutes by car (New Autoroute from nearby Mussidan).
The Orangerie
This features a double bedroom with twin basin, modern shower cabinet and bidet, seperate toilet and wash basin, a large kitchen/dining area with raised lounge, Gas/electric cooker, fridge, microwave, electric toaster, kettle, radio CD player, colour TV with dual standard video player and sofa bed in living area. (Sleeps 2).
The Chai
A two bedroom first floor apartment featuring a large lounge, dining area with fully fitted kitchen. Equipped with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric toaster and kettle etc. Radio cassette/CD player, colour TV with integral dual standard video. A shower room complete with washbasin and toilet. Sleeps two in each bedroom (one double, one twin - 4 total).
Beneath the Chai is a Laundry area with washing machine, double drainer sink and spin dryer for communal use on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
